About the awards

The PowerHousing Academy Scholarships and National Awards is PowerHousing Australia’s most prestigious and commemorative event of the year.

The PowerHousing Academy Scholarships and National Awards are designed to showcase the individuals, teams, programs, developments, and partnerships across the PowerHousing membership whose significant achievements have gone above and beyond expectations and have set new sector standards for excellence and innovation.

The Awards dinner allows members and invited guests to connect, and celebrate the accomplishments of staff and organisations who have brought people together, provided outstanding support, and created innovative changes that have enhanced the lives of their colleagues and tenants, their organisations, and the wider sector.

PowerHousing Academy Scholarships and National Awards are part of our larger PowerHousing Academy which assists future leaders in the community housing sector to further develop their skills and enhance their experience through a range of professional development opportunities.

Nominations closed on 19th September 2024 and the award winners will be announced at the PowerHousing Academy Scholarships and National Awards ceremony held at
the National Arboretum Canberra on the 19th November 2024.

Master of Ceremonies - Yvonne Adele

We are excited to announce Yvonne Adele as the MC for our Awards Gala Dinner! Yvonne’s impressive career began in the 90s with Microsoft, where she traveled the world supporting education teams. Upon returning to Australia, she gained national recognition as "Ms Megabyte," a tech expert who made technology accessible through popular TV shows and magazines.

Her media profile led to a successful career in public speaking and event hosting. Today, Yvonne is a sought-after MC, known for her inspiring, energetic, and engaging style. We look forward to her hosting a memorable evening at our awards night!

We are thrilled to welcome Hitparade as the featured band for the Awards Gala Dinner! With their signature rich harmonies, lush arrangements, and stylish presentation, Hitparade has become a beloved name in Canberra, consistently impressing audiences with their polished performances over the last 22 years.
